How delightful
POLICE are investigating after a piece of thick string was found tied across a road at neck height, posing a danger to motorcyclists.
The string could have caused serious injury and even a broken neck, according to the Motorcycle Action Group.
It was spotted by a passer-by at night time, when it would have been difficult for riders to see.
It had been tied between lampposts either side of a residential street in Totton, Hampshire

I was going to say unbelievable but sadly it's not. Complete and utter idiots who ever did it and as Monty rightly says oxygen thieves.

Re: How delightful
If caught what would the actual crime be ?
Don't get me wrong I'm not disputing it is a crime just not sure what it would be classed as and what level of punishment could be sentenced. Hopefully it would be something serious to make an example of these mindless scumbags.

Re: How delightful
I have heard of this before on trails that mountain bikers use but the odd person on a mx bike uses as well.

Need to put the scum bag who did this on a bike and force him to ride at it. What goes through peoples head. I think it's done by school kids to be honest

I can only think its done by mindless retards who haven't thought of the impact such a idiotic act will do. Worryingly if they have it could be attempted murder as death is a likely outcome.

Re: How delightful
I know London areas have had a problem with this happening to be honest. It's not uncommon in the estates. Bored kids big groups dark nights easy pickings.
What they used to do is tie up the string to the lamp posts and call in a pizza delivery wait for the scooter rider to arrive and Bob's your uncle scooter is nicked and if not lucky the guy gets a kick in plus nicked pizzas as the icing on the cake for them.
It's no different to the 'happy slaps' if anyone can remember that. People just getting bored over in their estates thinking it was funny to film. Though that was happening long before the media saw it.

Yep, people put logs in the middle of bends on the downhill sections too and all sorts, you can see where they have been dragged over to try and make people crash, also fishing wire across the path....wankers.

Re: How delightful
I would hope they don't realise what they are doing a bit like that guy on 675 ride out coming in the middle of the road waving his stick if he hit someone he would also would have been lucky to surviveBlade wrote:I can only think its done by mindless retards who haven't thought of the impact such a idiotic act will do. Re: How delightful
Kids out having fun....bit of string isn't going to stop 600lbs of bike & rider...the kinetic forces are tremendous.
Stupid act....definitely. Consequences...zero.

Re: How delightful
I found something similar not too long ago, school kids stringing the tape out of a VHS cassette across a 40mph road because "It's summat to do innit" I took some pleasure of untying it and throwing it away un-snapped...

Re: How delightful
My Mothers house probably, there's piles of VHS tapes round there. She's still got a fully functioning reel to reel tape player/recorder with tapes, a Dansette style record player for 45's, a pile of vinyl LP's and a collection of cassettes. The "Music centre" with record player, twin cassette player and radio is still fully functioning as well. It's like the land that time forgot.Kwacky wrote:Where the hell did they get a VHS tape from?
