Bike sales

Post by Kwacky »

In total, 75,192 motorcycles were registered in the UK between January 1 and September 30 this year, compared to 67,369 in the same period last year.

The best-sellers by class were:

ADVENTURE SPORT: BMW R1200GS Adventure (186)
CUSTOM: Harley-Davidson Sportster N 883 (70)
NAKED: Honda CBF125 (257)
SCOOTER: Honda PCX125 (288)
SPORT/TOUR: Kawasaki Z1000SX (120)
SUPERSPORT: Yamaha YZF-R125 (177)
TOURING: BMW R1200RT (186)
TRAIL/ENDURO: Honda CRF250L (72)

Going on the numbers of small engine bikes it looks like we do have a new generation of bikers coming through.

That's what I thought, nothing very super about almost 15bhp. Unless you're a moped rider of course.

I'd guess there is a move to reduce travel time and costs though, from people not commuting over great distances.

I had a CBF125 and I can understand why it's a best seller that little thing is great, cheap, reliable and quiet a nice looking little thing. That's until of course you get onto a 50+ MPH road but its for learners or anyone who just does town riding to work and it ticks all the boxes [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]
