Re: New 2015 R1
I know its very nice, I hope in reality its as good.
Also rumours of a 230 bhp version as superbike rules are becoming more restrictive on engine tuning so there rumoured to be shoe horning a race spec engine into a road going R1 SP

Excellent - back to the days of road going, fire breathing, race tuned homologation models. Don't think Yamaha have done one of those since the old R7 have they?Blade wrote:I know its very nice, I hope in reality its as good.

Re: New 2015 R1
That's not too bad. I think it looks a bit too similar to the kwaks and I'm not a fan of the massive R1 decal.

Re: New 2015 R1
It looks to be more of a restyling exercise than a new bike from that image.
Hope they have slimmed it down a bit as the current one is a bit of a fat ox.

Re: New 2015 R1
It seems that the bike makers are dropping weight off the front of the exhuast system and sticking ti at the back. That's what BMW have done. I guess it makes sense as it shifts the weight to a more central point if you keep the can or allows the rider to drop a load of weight by ditching the can.

Re: New 2015 R1
Funny you should say that, same here, have had Suzuki's and Honda's (still got a CG125 stashed away) but have never had another Yamaha since the fizzy and have never owned a Kwak. I'll go and stand in the corner now.Frankie wrote:I like it. I have never had a Yamaha since my FS1E many moons ago.

Re: New 2015 R1
There is a taster on the Yamaha site now and it seems the video Blade posted is just someones inaccurate guesswork.

Re: New 2015 R1
Sorry Rocket mate I have got to be seen to be fair to everyone on the forum so I will have to decline but thank you for the offer all the same . If I do it for you, I have to do it for everyone and TBH the numbers of people involved is just too large to keep everyone happy. Sorry to disappoint mate but thats just how it is I'm afraid

I wonder how well that R1 decal will work on the other side?Kwacky wrote:That's not too bad. I think it looks a bit too similar to the kwaks and I'm not a fan of the massive R1 decal.
