I think its nearly 80 miles top to bottom, race track quality tarmac and every kind of bend from fast open sweeper to tight switch back hairpins which I used to hate but with the practice I have had this last week I'm starting to like them. Truly epic road.

Last night being spent in someone's house in Ypres. Done big miles again today and now eating chips and mayonnaise in a Belgian chippy.

Just got back home from the most epic trip ever.

2500 miles in 8 days riding. I have completely and utterly knackered but some great memories to share.

Duke describes it perfectly when he says Epic so I won't say anymore.

Memeories to last a life time and probably a few scars from the sores to remind me haha.

Will share more story's and photos in a few days currently broken and spent.

PS Si the B500 is officially now my all time favourite road. Got my knee down on a full laden Blade with luggage which has to be one of my best biking moments.

Saw this sign when riding the other day.

Image

As I was travelling at speed at first glance I thought it was to warn of bad grip so slowed right down. I was confused (easily done, haha) thinking 6 kmph is a bit slow for loose Chipping's. I rounded the next bend slowly wondering what was all the fuss about as the tarmac was fine. When I rounded the next bend and saw a biker knee down I quickly realised it was a warning of kneed down bikers for the next 6 km (rock) so I did the only think possible, Stopped turned around and rode the twisty roller coaster ribbon of tarmac again with Bratty on my tail, laughing and giggling in our helmets all the way, epic ride (allhail)

It was amazing Andy. I honestly have never leant the bike over so much not even on track. The corners just went on for ever some must have been 270 degrees then followed by the same again. It was pure biking heaven buddy. Genuinely better than any track day IMO.

Next time, try the b48....if you think the 500 is good... try that, it's amazing. It's not as wide as the second part of the 500, and you can't get the ridiculous speeds on the long sweepers like you can on the 500, but for never ending knee down shenanigans, the 48 is twistier. road surface is just as good.

Looks a good road Si cheers for posting it (y)

Tbh as awesome as the B500 is it was quite a dangerous place and I nearly got wiped out a few times through no fault of my own.

Two times I rounded a blind hairpin in the wooded section to immediately have to stand the bike up and emergency brake as road works on our side of the tarmac with no prior warning signs.

Twice touring at 20 mph passing hotels I had two cars pull straight out on me. Luckily both times I was planning ahead and expecting it so managed to take evasive action.

Next I rounded a blind bend cranked over at speed and a american sports car Pontiac pile of shit is on my side of the road head on and I had to slip between him and the kerb, then the very next corner again at speed cranked over a big quarry lorry is on my side of the road doing a head on.

I suppose it could gave happened anywhere and just unlucky but the sixth time I got really annoyed and made my feelings clearly known (swear)

we where lucky mate, it was very quiet. Although at one stage we where all doing around 140 ish, i got caught behind a lorry for around 10-15 secs, and a motorhome was coming the other way...tol, bill and craig where in front and as much i could, i couldn't catch them after i passed the lorry, i was maxing the bike, out they still where miles in front lol.... they forgot about the t-junction at the end.....ops. hehe.. could have turned nasty!
Otherwise, no mishaps at all.... on the other hand, the b48 can bite ya.
