Oi Frankie
What was that puncture repair kit thingy that got you out of the sh1t on a Wales trip ???
I know I got caught out the once and I've stopped to speak to another biker with a puncture today.
It just reminded me that I needed to get one

I carry a couple. One on the bike and one in my backpack.
They're like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/MOTORCYCLE-PUNC ... B001AXK9QQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Oi Frankie
Yeah I have the same one as Kwacky.
No personal experience so can't recommend but it is the OEM kit BMW Supply with their bikes os should be good.
I think it can repair a 4mm diameter puncture but not sure if consider a temporary or permanent repair,.

Re: Oi Frankie
The 'bung' stuff that you put in .... is it like a putty that solidifies and then you cut it off ?

Re: Oi Frankie
What he said ^ ha ha , yep I will not go anywhere without the kit under the seat now. After I fixed mine in Stratford on Avon I still managed to meet up with Mick at the services on the M5. That tyre remained on the bike until it was knackered through general use.
The run from fixing to meeting Mick, was not a slow run, I thought I may as well give it the beans (flat out, never been so quick beans), if it holds now I will be able to do the whole days riding in Wales ha ha ha.

Re: Oi Frankie
Good to know they work well with first hand experience.
My kit has three co2 canisters for inflating the tyre is that enough for a rear tyre ?

Yep. They're designed to fully inflate your tyre. From memory I think mine was about 44 psi after I had used the kit.

Re: Oi Frankie
In fairness the canister is just to get a bit of air in to get you to a air hose where you can get the correct pressure in.
I did not use it, as I made my way to a garage, luckily
Top tip. Carry a couple of sets of PVC gloves the throw away type, the wormy thing you thread into the tyre once you have used the reamer tool is sticky, sticky, sticky, the last thing yiu want to do is put that hand inside your glove ha ha.
Oh yeah and if they don't put one in the kit, a sharp blade, to cut the end off that's sticking out of the tyre. Leaving that out could pull the whole thing out ( possibly)
I have used the kit on more than one occasion.

Re: Oi Frankie
I bought one of these kits for my best mate for Christmas years ago and another for my lad following a puncture and trashed tyre, I really should buy one for myself.

I got a flat on my speed triple. Duke had a kit with him and fixed the tyre at the roadside. Ever since then I've had one on the bike I've owned.

Re: Oi Frankie
I didn't have one and called the breakdown services but they only take you 10 mile if its a puncture, recovery to home is charged per mile after the first 10 mile.
Always carry one now.
