In a previous life when I was selling Onboard Bullet cameras to F1 teams and Mr Joe Public (mainly cars I may add) we'd always look for non-body panel areas to secure them.

Ideally suction mounts with a positive lever (snaps down the suction cup) to a frame is the best solution with extender arms as they're designed not to vibrate.

I appreciate with bikes we all want to attach them to the fairings and when I did this last at Donny I found the best solution was to the part of the fairing nearest to the frame screws the best option gents.

Just my two pennies worth.

Cheers for the input. I'm still playing around. I've found the suction mount the best so far.

Kwacky defo the suction mounts mate. They offer less opportunity for vibration.

If using the screw clamps then a small piece of neoprene between it and the fixing area helps too.

Reading this thread has reminded me of quite a few funny experiences when doing that job a couple of years back....I must write a book as racing drivers and teams are a very different breed of humans at times Image

Can anyone give me an idea of the diameter of the suction cups? I am limited with fairing options having a naked bike, but there are a couple of possibilities depending upon how much room they need.

Aren't cameras a little small to mount, and wouldn't it mark the lens?............

D6 they're around he diameter of a pint glass on average (Kwacky will know the dimensions) yet you can source smaller ones. If you want to know a good chap who sales and knows his stuff speak with Mark at DogCam

Spudda, they shouldn't budge when it's on. Either it's not flat or you're not putting it on correctly.

I fairness I was messing around with an old sat nav mount to see where it could go .... I think the suction cup is past its best
