Jimmy Savile inquests

These inquests are all well and good but i don't see much action in asking questions (at the very least) of those in positions of trust who obviously knew what he was up to but did precisely **** all about it.

They are almost as guilty as he was.

It's obvious there was a shield around various people at the time. Savile wasn't the only one involved either. Lots of people have talked about this for some time. I think David Ike went public with it but everyone dismissed him.

Some of the stuff being reported on Sky news this afternoon is verging on the incredulous, necrophilia and stealing artificial eyes from corpses to make into jewellery ? abuse of victims ranging between 5 - 75 both male and female ? cant think of an adequate word to describe him

Just been reading what he got up to. Makes me feel sick inside. How many lives must this pervert have destroyed? There is absolutely no way he could have done all this without considerable help from people in positions of trust.

There must have been numerous complaints to police that were never investigated.

One thing that is positive I suppose is that people are now more able to speak out if there is abuse happening.

I'm not sure this would happen again? I hope not :(

Did you hear the interview with John Lydon (when he was Rotten) talking about Saville:

Says it all doesn't it, Godzilla.

What he got up to in private was obviously a well known fact through out the media even in 1978 ....so why did no one stop it?

I'd love to hear the excuses of these people.... in a public enquiry if they are still alive.

Really not defending anyone here, just wondering what are facts and what are allegations.

Have any of the cases been heard in a court yet? Any posthumous convictions?

As I say, certainly not defending him, but some claims appear to be beyond sick, perverted and twisted.

The investigations are ongoing to see if anyone else (other than Savile) can be charged.

And Stuart Hall....but yet to see that Savile is actually guilty (although it's probably just a formality). His family are conspicuous in their silence...

This whole thing becomes a deeper and deeper disgrace to this Country.

To think the TV Licence fee paid for this to go on.

By the way, Max Clifford is involved in a lot these goings on. Kids reporting the abuse were sent to him for him to deal with the story.

I am astonished that no one appears to ask for an enquiry in to how the BBC was being run whilst all this went on.

Most of the celebrity cases appear to have worked for the BBC at various points.

Disgraceful.

I just have so much contempt for the rulers of this land, past and present.

I really do hope they are judged in the best way possible when they leave this mortal coil.

Eventually the real truth will be out on this whole episode and who turned a blind eye to some horrendous crimes.
