Unrest in Thailand

Post by R34PER »

I noticed this as I know a few people visiting the country at the moment.

BBC news
BBC wrote:Thailand's army chief has announced that the military is taking control of the government
Cabinet ministers have been told to report to a military base north of Bangkok
All TV and radio broadcasting has been suspended; showing only army bulletins
Political gatherings of more than five people have been banned
A nationwide curfew is in operation from 22:00 to 05:00 local time

This has been brewing for some time. There has been unrest out there for a few years.

Bad luck for tourists as well as locals if everywhere is shut from 10pm

We've got a friend just outside Bangkok, he was put in post in February, he was telling us between Crimbo and New Year that it was imminent, as he still has contacts there from when he was working there a few years ago, he wasn't looking forward to the uncertainty as to when and how it would take place.

They can still bum the kids, but the kids now have to stop the night.
