When I first got my SV650S I was getting 55-65mpg
1 year later I'm getting 45mpg
First week with the ZX6R and I'm back at 55mpg
1 month after ownership and the bike would never see more than 40mpg again!!

I'm between 45-50 mpg on the KTM, that midrange is addictive. On my first ride I got 60, probably never to be repeated.

How the chuff are you managing 40mpg, I'm averaging around 25, 30 on a good day.

My light came on at 73miles last time out!

That's very bad economy... but you have a remap/tune, correct?

When I was doing MaxWrist style riding keeping up with my mate on his gsxr 1000 I was still getting 30mpg

I get 12-17mpg on circuit

Yep, remapped and the fueling is perfect. It was running rich before the remap. I have had the secondary throttle remapped so it never completely shuts so maybe it's that. It does pop and bang a far bit. A lot!

Out with my Boss on his 1199 Pani and we were fueling up at the same time. He put 15 quid in and I put 17 quid in!

Picked up a fecking puncture..

Fortunately a very slow one, and a bike garage helped out on the way home by giving me some more air and covering the hole with superglue. Sounds daft, but it really works.

Good to see you got help Nutz.

I remember in a similar situation, when stuck at the road side with a flat a bloke drove home and came.back with a self tapper and a mini air compressor and it got me home, something then failed to do as they didnt turn up.

Cleaned it, cleaned + lubed + adjusted the chain, checked the tyre pressures.

Ready for another weeks commuting.

Took the 999 out again this morning, a quick blast up to the AV8 cafe and back, didn’t see many bikes about !!
Then gave it a good clean this afternoon!

Between showers I pulled it out and changed the front discs and pads.

Image

Some swearing ensued when I checked the shiny new Brembo disc on the left.

The right was 0.07mm so, good enough, after rotating the disc to all 5 possible positions and getting very little variation in reading I was sure that the disk was true.
Next step then, take the wheel back out, disc off and check the back of it, all fine, disc mounting face looked fine and I had given it a scrape with a stanley blade earlier to check for high spots and found none. I had identified the high spot with tape on the rim so I gave the high mounting face some gentle love with a jewellers file...

BETTER!
Not perfect but serviceable, the 'bump' is between 2 of the mounting bolts so i'm just going to see how that goes.

I also need a better DTI holder. :D
