Best kind of therapy IMO.

Not too bad. Nothing new seems to have been eaten by the salt. Loads of salt came off the bike when I did the initial hose down.

There was a lot of crud behind the sprocket cover though. It was like tar.

That ACF50 is good stuff and sounds like it did it's job well.

Yep, it's pretty good at looking after the bike.

Took it up to Patterdale for lunch at the Patterdale Hotel. I was out the door at 8:30 and after 2 miles I was riding through thick fog and the bike said the temperature had dropped to 4°c, after too many miles of that it started to clear as I passed through Bradford, topped up the tank at Skipton where I met my friends from Leeds and onward to Lake Windermere for coffee and a chat.
Then a fun ride up to Patterdale for dinner and on to Kendle via the A6 through Shap for more chat and Coffee.

Then back down the A65 home, just past Leeds I was back into thick fog but now it was dark, good fun, arrived home with 10 miles of fuel remaining after about 210 miles on that tank +55 to Skipton, most of them "Not hanging about" and an unusual route to north Leeds thanks to road closures.

That was a cold ride in this morning. Ice everywhere. Not much fun.

Your not kidding, max of 2 degrees for me this morning. Glad if all the fairing, but my boots are rubbish. Despite 2 pairs of socks my feet were frozen.

Good, traffic was surprisingly quiet. Was good to find out that the sun was either to my side or behind me on the ride here, so no riding into the sun. Just need to be wary of the fact I could be hard to spot in mirrors.

Big bonus, I just realised that there is a cracking cafe just round the corner. Stopped off at it a while back, you have to cross over a canal to get to it.. really good cake :D

Get some sealskin socks... they don't breathe very well so your own sweat will keep you warm !!

About 30% of my journey this morning was spent riding directly into the sun.

it's not much fun

Took the panniers off, and boy was I glad I did that. Traffic was solid for a good few miles before Oxford..

Bloody cold again, -2 when I left home.

It was a bit warmer for me this morning.

I think I need to get the tinted visor out.

Don't do it.... It's like washing the car/bike... You'll make it rain.

I picked the Versys up from its service.

They were working on a KTM 1290 GT. 27,000 miles, just under 2 years old. It looked brand new. Looks like KTM have upped their game with build quality.

Fitted the Cyclops headlight bulb and tidied up the wiring. Its supposed to be canbus compatible but the GT's electronic brain said nope, and thought dipped beam had failed so put high beam on.. So i reused the Phillips resister box from the previous led bulb.

The previous Phillips bulb had no cooling fan and seemed to dim itself after a while, the Cyclops is brighter and has a fan so should stay bright and fills the reflector better so should have a good pattern... Will test it later.
