999 What's your emergency?
They're covering Match 2020. It's mad to think it's been almost a year since we started to try and tackle this virus.

Well at least it was a different failure, looked like a small engine explosion, the 2nd engine tried to light but there was debris flying before it reached the ground.

Pretty much everything about Starship is generation 1 experimental, I'm amazed that it's so rock steady in the bellyflop, virtually no RCS firing, all on the flaps.

LOL, I know you are only joking but I can't resist.Kwacky wrote:"how was your bike ride?"

They need some failures, the whole process they are working on requires it. They aren't making one rocket, testing it and then building another one based on what they learned. They're building multiple prototypes at the same time at different levels in the development. They find a problem, find an improvement or have a failure in one it's addressed one or two stages back.

Re: What you watching?
I appreciate all that and know that they get data. But I don't think the test was a "test to fail". Hence my original comment.

Re: What you watching?
Just been watching Scott Manley's video about it, he manages to explain it better than most, and thinks it could be as simple as bubbles in the fuel line.

Re: What you watching?
I'm not saying they test to fail. It's all about the speed of development, they just need to keep throwing things up and learning. The more things they throw up the more they learn. And when things fail they learn more things and that speeds up the development.Kwacky wrote:I appreciate all that and know that they get data. But I don't think the test was a "test to fail". Re: What you watching?
A Youtube video about space.
Apparently the largest star that we know of, if it was placed where our Sun is, would engulf all the planets out as far as Saturn, which it would be brushing up against.
The audio track said that it's big enough to be beyond human comprehension. No sh!t.
