Are you keeping the 748 fairings? You'd definitely surprised a few bikers that's for sure.

It will be subtle, Cav. I have some s/h side fairings which i picked up with the engine.

I intend to swap the fairing for a complete s/h one and keep the original safe as don't want to wreck it on a trackday.

All sorts of extras come to mind as i go along. Think i will need a better steering damper before any trackday. Ebay has only Matrix and Hyperpro. Anyone got any experiences of either?

Rocket, definitely looking forward to seeing how much more stomp it has. If it gets to 115 as is i will be happy but JHP reckon they could beat 119bhp but they said the engine needs to breathe properly at intake and exhaust. That isn't priority this winter. I want to get it up and running nicely and take it from there.

Kwacky- i saw the Supermono in the workshop the other week. Bike had been in for service and was being returned to its owner in Cheshire.

Ducati only ever made 65, the general consensus is they are worth upwards of £100k.

I think either steering damper will be better the original is PANTS heard good stuff about hyperpro shocks but no first hand experience with there steering dampers.

I used to have a 50mm half system it was a copy of the termis they were identical to the real deal sounded gorgeous not to loud but would shake the garage door

I had a Hyperpro pro on my old 675. It did the job!

Just to add that from memory there are two main types of hyperpro damper. CSC and RSC depending on whether you want linear or progressive damping I think!

Fwiw I've also got a Hyperpro damper on my 675, huge improvement over stock (although my OEM one was literally useless)
I wanted to fit an old Ohlins unit I had, but there was no way to mount it.

Had a Matrix Damper on my b1 and did a lot to calm a very lively front end.

Popular in wsbk / wss paddocks I believe.

Seems Hyperpro and Matris are good quality then. I will see what is about at the NEC show.

Just had a phone call from JHP asking if I would like my exhaust system cleaned and polished ( not shiny finish) as they are taking a number down to the polishers. Seems silly not too. I've spent many a winter hour trying to clean it up before.

Popped into JHP to sort out the clutch today.

Bike is in the workshop, engine is out and the new one in. They have cleaned everything up, removed the old alarm that was disconnected but still on the bike.

Gone for the 6 post 12 tooth STM slipper clutch as it will work with the alloy basket already on the bike. does need new plates though.

Thanks, mate. I couldn't resist taking a few photos as I think these bikes look nearly as good with their clothes off.

No more spending now though. I want to spend next summer just using it as intended.

I must say it looks like you have a top quality workshop doing the work.

When will you get it back?

Not really sure. They like to do jobs as they see fit unless there is urgent stuff come in.

He said before Christmas but the way they are going it might be sooner. I told them there is no rush.

I was pointed towards a KTech steering damper by JHP yesterday. Will have a look at the NEC but might have to wait til the Spring now.

Thankfully the swingarm pivot bolt came out easily. They are notorious for seizing in place and its impossible to remove them if they do. If the seize the frame has to be splayed open and the bolt cut between the frame and engine. I've seen photos of one bloke jamming his frame between to wall pillars and using a bottle jack to shift it. It actually knocked the wall down rather than move itself.
