Its much smoother than the 748 and the previous Multi. They have done a lot to improve the engine. It spins up very quickly too.
The suspension took a week or so to get used to as initially it feels a little different, almost as if you can feel it adjusting itself ( not sure if that is what it is but its the only way i could describe it and might juts be my imagination).
The beauty of it is though a few flicks of the buttons controlling the dash and the bike goes from touring mode to sports mode both in terms of engine response and suspension settings. I have made the rear a little stiffer in touring mode and softened it a little in sports mode. I can change front and rear preload and front and rear damping settings. There rae 24 different preload settings and 5 different damping settings. Unlike the Panigale S, i cannot change rebound and compression separately but it still does make a noticeable difference.
Unlike the previous bike the different engine modes are noticeably different on this one. The sports mode is great when shifting on a bit but I found it a bit too abrupt when around town or sticking to local speed limits. easy to change from one to the other though.
So far I am mightly impressed by the bike. I loved the last one but this has taken it all on another step. The bike is definitely sportier in every sense.
