Feel for you Jack, bike thieves are the lowest form of life imho. :@

Does the local plod have any ideas, or are they just issuing a crime number and moving on?

the police seem to think it was a professional job but I cant imagine why they would want a 15 year old bike that is so noticeable , I have never seen another with a metalflake Union Jack nose , on the plus side they need a new fuel pump and the speedo doesnt work , the bike was sorn for the winter and the work needed . Unfortunately due to it being sorn and not working and me trying to save the cash to get the work done it was not insured .
I've stopped crying now and am trying to look for positives , I have learned a valuable lesson - keep it insured always , I also get to get a new bike at some point if mine isn't recovered intact . I am going to console myself with a curry .

That's a double kick in the teeth.

Have you tweeted a photo to the usual bike theft accounts?

Exactly what Kwacky said, fingers crossed it surfaces somewhere in the UK, sounds like it’s different enough to be easy to recognise. Really gutted for you Jack.

Really sorry to read this Jack, I can only echo the dismay and anger in the previous posts. 'kin thieving scroates. (gah)

:? Keeping with that positive tilt, at least this way you won't have lost your NCD or need to report the loss to the insurance cartel.?

Be nice if it did get recovered, and the culprits suitably attended by karma.

Gutted for you mate.. hope it gets recovered!

Thieves who'd stolen a van and burnt it out at the top of the hil where I lived at the time stole my moped from outside my house but dumped it 200m away behind the church because they couldn't get the steering lock off

:) Brilliant news Jack.
Now wouldn't it be just great if the "other matters" was an investigation into physical assault occasioning grievous bodily harm on the thief who took it from you.
