I do fancy a Ducati at some point and both the 1299 and 899 could be a possible but after using semi active ohlins I think I would want the s.

What are the power modes on the 1299 ?

The base 1299 is identical to the 1299s except for the electronic suspension, steering damper and the forged wheels.

All the riding modes, cornering abs, wheelie control are the same.

Does the electronic suspension really make that much difference on the roads?

The big plus of the electronic suspension its it ability to react to the bike's deceleration, acceleration and direction changes in a millisecond and keep the tyres gripped to the road or track. And the more power the bike has, the more the forces will be through the suspension, so on the latest litre sports bikes with 200bhp, it certainly has great value as the pace is upped considerably.

I'm not convinced it has quite so much value as a comfort thing.

I suspect with some money spent, you could get ordinary forks and shocks working pretty damn close, at least in most road conditions.

That is the advice I was given by the PB mag editor anyway.

That does look good. I won't own one though as I don't think a shitty corroded one would look as good.... or still work.

Not a great picture with the shadow cast over it, but I prefer the darker wheels (although I prefer the design of the gold ones).

£15,749 for the yellow block. It's just a lot of money for a bike.
