The fact there is more profit in a re-valve and service than selling a replacement shock could possibly be a motivation for this option.

Have you had advice from someone commercially impartial ?

I replaced my zx6r with a race shock as I was told by an impartial expert the oem item was junk and not worth spending money on. They said it was like paying good money for old rope.

Right, it's time to crack on with the bike

Perkles has it to remove the rear shock, he'll do anything for a balti.

The link pipe is here so I'll remove the big baffle box under the bike.

Send the rear shock off for a revalve, refresh and replacement spring.

Once that is in I'll get a replacement airfilter and get the ECU remapped.

After that it's mainly cosmetic. I could do with a new front wheel as this one had a small dent in it. The can has been on the bike for a while so I might look to replace that, but not sure what with. Rearsets need replacing. I've got a brand new set of OEM ones but I might go for some bling after market ones.

I also need to carry on swapping OEM metal bits for stainless or titanium.

When are you hoping to have this all done by?

My shock is at the suspension place now getting a service and revalve - can't wait til Thursday when I can pick it up... I should probably check the swingarm bearings and regrease them too.

Now I just need to do the brakes and it's rideable again!

I've had Leo Vince in the past and do like them.

There's no timescale. The rear shock will hopefully be sorted by the end of the month. ECU in February or March.

The rest is on an as and when basis.

ECU flash would be great for my bike but I haven't budgeted for it so I'm not having it.

I did get a grand total of £250 No Limits track vouchers though which I'm very happy about so that's my UK trackdays for the year paid for !!

I don't think I want a carbon can on mine. I've got carbon swing arm protectors on it so it might look OTT.

Just a bit of advice; most people leave the standard titanium downpipes on and take the catalyzer out of the link pipe and put a can on. Put the longest can on you, er, can. They run better

Yeah I'm aware.. that's why I didn't get something like the M4 GP pipe.

Kwacky, my brother has a Pipewerx slip on exhaust on the R1 he had pinched. Really well made can and sounded good.
