To be fair I don’t think it needs an aftermarket exhaust.

The air box howl you hear when riding is all you need.

You motivate me to whip the baffle out Cookie and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the change.

Not much noise increase tbh, but definitely a deeper burble with added bass. You wouldnt thing a such a small insert that literally alters the bore diameter by a few mm would have made such a difference.

I'll update you after a test ride if you like as the above was at tick over and a few throttle blips in the garage.

Took the Staffs Triumph bike out today as it has a few more miles on it (250 ) so I was able to get a bit better idea of what the bike is like.

Can only say it reinforced my first impressions - it is a stunningly good bike, with a fantastic engine, I really would like one. Just have to see if I can make the finances work as the wife had given me the OK to have one.

I was able to ride it on some decent twisting roads I know today. The engine is a peach. I had forgotten just how big and flat the torque curve is a on triple. It picks up the revs almost in any gear at any speed. The QS and gearbox is slick (Shame it doesn't have a blipper as well), the brakes Brembo M50s are incredibly strong.

It was also good in traffic and lovely for filtering through as it is very light and flick able.

I rode it most of the ride in sport mode and completely forgot it has a track mode too, so I might have to go for another test ride at some point.

Only slight criticism is that the suspension is quite hard on the bumpier roads but I am sure some of that could be dialled out. I know the R has slightly more supple suspension and more mid range, and I do prefer the Red subframe, but I think I would go for the full on RS if I could. It has everything you would want and would be a great bike on track too.

It is just the sort of bike I would want, light, quick, flick able and very much a Sportsbike but without the race crouch. But you could still use it fir the occasional commute on nicer days as that engine s just so good.

Anyway, I am off to raid a few banks or failing that, to sell some body parts.

I will put a couple of photos up when I have resized them.

Seriously though, the R is better on the road and lets face it 99.999999% of the time thats where you are. Plus it's cheaper!

Sounds just like my view of it when i tested it. The R suspension and torque is better for the road, but they are all good bikes.

Depends what you like from a bike. The harder suspension and rev happy nature of the RS is more to my tastes but the R is still fecking excellent.

I might see if I can find an R demo at some point. As a second bike, I would prefer something different to the Multi.

I really like the 765RS.. and seeing the power they've gotten out of some of these already is very promising !!

I've fallen in love with the Aprilia V4 and Yamaha R1 engine note though, the triple is great but it just isn't quite there for me.

Ah well, at least i'm not in the actual predicament of having any spare money to get a 2nd or 3rd bike

I might turn the 853 into track only. We will see. Depends on finances really.

I am starting to struggle a bit with sports bikes on the road. My muscles are not as supple as they used to be. Fitness only keeps ageing at bay to a point.
