Can you add it to the house insurance?

No. I can't see how its any different to sitting on the floor TBH.

The bike weighs the same however the tyre sits, so two pressure points would surely mean half the weight spread between the two? Or is that too easy?

Very good point. I don't think so but will. Check. I have unlimited cover on garage content but think motor vehicles are the only exception to being part of the contents covered.

Do what we do and have them in the bedroom , patio doors separate the bedroom space and bike space and then we have a very nice Great Dane who also sleeps in the bedroom.

It wasn't meant to be this way as we were moving upstairs and making the whole of the downstairs bedroom into a workshop. Only problem was the big girl can't navigate the staircase as it winds round and she just howled all night.

So now I sleep in the workshop with the bikes sectioned off with a stud wall and patio doors.

I've seen these before ... but does it attract attention

I have a sectional door so it wouldn't actually work but there are similar products for sectional doors although I agree with you it attracts too much attention.

I have a Hormann Sectional Door Spudda and would thoroughly recommend it. Great quality which is typical of the Germans.
