TBH I have personally had good experience selling to bikers but had terrible and similar experiences when selling baby / child items to the general public. So much so that we now don't sell baby / child items on ebay and would rather give them away to people who genuinely appreciate them. I'm talking £650 prams that are like new, but TBH I would rather give it away than get 40 odd quid for it and a load of hassle.

Its disappointing to hear this about bike equipment as perhaps naively from personal experience I thought in general bikers were better than that

Tell me about it! The new track bike is hemmed in by a cot, dresser, bookshelf set that we have now sold twice and still hasn't been picked up! The missus has been having a big clear out and selling heaps of stuff on eBay, and it's been nothing but a hassle. I've never had much of a problem selling stuff, but it's usually bloke-related so maybe that's why

Sorry to hear this but unfortunately it all sounds so familiar. Personally I would avoid selling all baby stuff on ebay if at all possible as it really isn't worth it IMO. In our experience it's far more rewarding giving to some one who you know will sincerely and genuinely appreciate the item rather than moaning about you not being available for collection at 1 hours notice, 7 days after they have won the item and failed to pay 5 or 10 % of the original price for an item which is genuinely is like new.

That was my first choice Blade, but no one we knew needed it. Tried to give it to the bush fire recovery crowd, but they turned it down saying they had too much stuff. If the people don't pick it up today, I'm taking it to the local Vinnie's.

Facebook groups and Gumtree seem to be very good for buying and selling kids stuff.

I guess with facebook you aren't anonymous like eBay so if you mess someone about all your friends and family will see.

If we don't know anyone we now just take stuff down the charity store.

Tbh if the above option wasn't possible I genuinely think I would bin kids stuff rather than sell it in eBay for a few pennies and a boat load of hassle and agro.

No show AGAIN! My wife has got to the bin it stage. I'll smuggle it down to the local charity shop on Monday

I often take stuff to charity shops rather than sell for a few pounds on eBay.

Especially after a buyer denied receiving an item. The box was 2'x1.5'x1' . I really don't believe a box that size gets lost in the post. I had insured it but forgot to get it signed for.

We take all of our kids stuff to the local charity shop. I much prefer a charity shop to make a couple of quid than have some lowlife scumbag try and swindle people via ebay.

Blade, I'm not 100% sure this guy is a biker. I think he tries to buy stuff on the cheap then sell it on.

I've pulled the other items I was selling. I really can't be arsed with the hassle.

Ebay have given the guy a full refund and taken the paypal charges from me.

I've not had the item back.

They did that to me on a £800 jukebox

After much shouting I got it back broken and had to sell it to a dealer for parts for £200.

eBay is a horrid place for sellers IMO.

This is unbelievable. Dont ebay require him to send it back and offer proof? SO you can buy any item you like, say it was damaged, not return it and get your money back so getting things for free? Surely there must be something in place to stop this?

Nope. That is what is supposed to happen, but they give the money back anyway. Unless your prepared for the hassle of fighting them after. I don't sell anything on ebay anymore. I try to buy through other shops rather than ebay now unless I need something crappy and cheap from Hong Kong or China.

A monopoly if ever I saw one.

I've reported him for abusing the money back policy. I doubt it'll go anywhere. I'll delete my account afterwards.

He's not got anything for sale. He is dodgy. He only replies in the early hours of the morning, his English is stilted, he refers to himself as "we" and neither his username, the name he's given Ebay and Paypal nor his email show up anywhere apart from Ebay and Paypal.

And now ebay have charged me for the sale
