Used the bike for a trip and ended up getting a bloody puncture :( went to get the kit out from under the seat to fix It, and hey presto it was gone!! Doh! It was under the seat of the tiger (swear) (facepalm) (gah) (gah)

Called BMW rescue who then used the services of SOS. they were having issues with a previous customer, bmw called me very apologetic, lucky enough an old biker chap stopped who was on around the corner, came back with a nice hot cup of tea for me (rock) what a star.

SOS turn up, can't fix as he had broken his pluging kit, asked if I minded doubling up there was a guy in trouble 15 mins up the road, I said no problem called him and then take me home.

2 fecking hours later, we can't find the guy, so we never collect him and I am home!! (headbang)

Tyre is buggered, hole could be plugged, but it's had it, so new boots for me, and I will make sure I get another repair kit under the seat, never ever, ever, ever again will I be without a means to fix a puncture while out on a bike. Many hours of my life I won't get back. Thank feck the weather is mild and dry it could have been a lot worse.

Word of warning, if you guys are out on lanes which have had the yearly hacking done, I.e that tractor and hedge cutting combo, beware, they don't cut in a nice way, they hack the bloody stuff which then ends up in the road, with very sharp Twigs and bits of tree/bushes, and are a danger to tyres of bikes, especially ones which in fairness are a little close to the sell by date in terms of rubber thickness and tread (sweat) The rear has lasted 3500 miles exactly. :?

But considering I was out of the way, 2 bikers stopped to assist out of 4 that past, and one of those made me a cuppa :)

Not good Frankie, sorry to hear this buddy but on a positive good excuse for some new tyres. What you thinking of putting on. M7RR get good reviews and will be good in the damp winter months.

Doesn't sound like my choice of ways to spend a Saturday, however a tyre plugging kit has just gone on my Christmas list.....

On a positive note, it's good to hear of bikers stopping again, I know this is another subject but it has seemed to me that looking out for one another has seemed to be on the decline in recent years, I can only think that the summer weekend warriors decided November isn't a biking month and only the diehards were out yesterday.

I usually stop even if I am in the car. Results from a biker stopping for me once who asked me to do the same when I see a biker in distress. That way the system perpetuates ad infinitum.

Nice one Tricky, I too was out in the wet today... Very wet!!! It was a planned Rat ride out. Started off thinking, what the hell am I doing, could have been doing a lot more instead of this, especially the first run out to meet the guys heading down the M4 in the pouring rain with all the spray!

However turned out to be a cracking days riding, rain and all, which did tend to dry up (ish) in the afternoon. Some key plus points
1) Found out my boots - The short cut TCX urban boots kept my feet bone dry all day, despite looking soaked through.
2) Found a great place for some fish and chips not far from Stow - Ideal for a run out in the area in the future.
3) Made note of some roads which criss cross the roads, I use for our ride outs in the Cotswold's, they were fun in the wet, they woud be awesome in the dry :)
4) I do need new wets (trousers only) seems the inner membrane liner is falling to bits, was getting a little wet in places. Turned them inside out when I got home and could see where they were on the way out. For very little investment, these have proved to be a very handy thing to have.

To answer your question Blade, M7RR already on order 8)

Thought the grub would be of interest, would work into a ride out, breakfast at Lucy's, chips for lunch and cake for tea. ;)

Have to say I'm with the others - fish, chips and mushy's do look good, I'm liking the token piece of greenery, but I think you'll find the lemon juice acts as one of your five a day. ;)

Goty soaked. It's been dry all day and no sign of rain. 5 minutes on my way to hospital the heavens open. It's even worse on the way back. My dripping kit is sat in the work's shower room.
