No but I want one. I always have a little dead spot at the start of the lever pull

he was highly recommended and can do a direct re flash where others want you to buy and fit a PCV He has also raced BSB on a BMW and built his own race engines
I am not after peak power just a clean up of AFRs and throttle response in the mid range
Reading the threads on the BMW forums Gen3s make anything from 190 RWHP to 200 so its enough for me (beer)

Do you need that much power to get your carcass home after lunch?

Interested in a remap for the S3. Would like the rev limit raising and a bit more top end power.

I'm happy with the midrange and the throttle response isn't bad tbh, but if he could improve it then it's a bonus.

Not my bike but was driving today and whilst heading down a very long straight, maybe upto a mile (happy) i could see a bike in the distance.

Not too long late the bike loomed into focus.

A bright yellow Ducati 900ss, flat to the stop, booming loud and the riders chin tucked into the tank (rock) pulling well into naughty territory.

Did make me smile (lol) proper blast from the past and getting used as it should be instead of rotting at the back of a garage.

It is advisable to increase the manufacturers rev limit?

It depends, Duke.. there are some cases where the factory will restrict an engine for marketing purposes (to sell their more premium version).

You can always uprate the valve springs and can usually push the rev limit by 500-1000RPM. It's "common" on the ZX6R to do this in the racing community but the stock ECU is the limit here as you can't modify the rev limit. Instead you need the Kit ECU which doesn't have output for lights. Effectively Kawasaki made it impossible to increase the rev limit on a street bike.

I don't know in the case of Triumph if they have done something similar, but if they have it's likely not worth the expense.

Thanks for the clarification Duke ;)

I'm pretty certain that's what they did with the newer model.

They do and this is why I hope it is possible as the 2 engines have the same, conrods, big end bearings and inlet/exhaust valves however they do have a different crank, piston and valve spring so not immediately obvious.

I need to look into it, but 1000 more rpm and 10 bhp would be lovely.

After mulling it over, and having been a bit fed up with everything lately, I decided the time was right to go and get out on the bike again.

Haven't been out for a LONG time.

I have fired it up a couple of times over the winter and there were no problems, started strong and gave me no reason to think there would be any problem.

Which made it quite surprising when, after kitting up for the ride, earplugs in, new helmet on, gloves on, I turned the key to see...

Nothing.

Not a sausage.

Didn't even light the clocks up.

Put a multimeter on the battery to find it was only putting out 2.5 volts! (shocked)

So it's now on charge and I'm not riding it!

The valve spring is an obvious thing to change. The pistons will likely be high compression pistons to aid the higher revs. Another way of achieving that would be to replace the gasket with a thinner one.. you can usually get an OEM one. At least you can from Kawasaki anyway.

It would definitely be worth it though

Yeah.

At least I've got a charger and I can rectify the problem.
Means I can have a longer ride tomorrow. That's what I'll tell the missus anyway!
