Re: Insurance renewal time
More shit from Carole Nash.
I call to swap the z1000sx (Group 15) to the Versys (Group 9).
That'll be an extra £374 please.
Erm, what?
Yeah, it's a new bike, worth more and the modifications make it more desirable. So folks, don't have heated grips.
44 minutes to be fleeced. I was passed over to someone else so I had to go through all of the same information. Great news, the new policy price was less than the old one .
That's for both bikes, yes?
Oh, you want multi bike policy?
That'll be £772.49
More arguing.
Sir, if you had a garage it would be cheaper. I politely remind her that I'm asked abut a garage every fecking year and that if I had a garage I would use it.
In the end I've had to pay just over £200 extra but I've got 14 days to get out of the policy so it's back to hunting around again.
And I intend to complain this time. They're taking the piss.

Re: Insurance renewal time
My complaint worked. They've reinstated the old policy and adjusted the previous one for the new bike at a much lower price. They've also apologised and said they would be taking it up with the handlers I spoke with.

Re: Insurance renewal time
not sure what is happening at carol nash at the moment they used to give me really good quotes and i liked the cover after using it. However the last quote i had from them was 3 times more than most other insures. My mate has had a similar experience with them and move his business else were.

Re: Insurance renewal time
I get the impression they are only selling Avvia policies now. I've had insurance from a number of providers in the past via Carole Nash, The last 3 have all been with Aviva.

Re: Insurance renewal time
A few people on Twitter have been slagging them off as well after I had a rant.
Shame, they used to be a really good company with excellent customer support.

Re: Insurance renewal time
I was chatting with my neighbour when I got home. As I was putting the Versys away he asked if I had had any issues with people trying to steal the bikes? I told him I know that they get looked at from time to time as I've found the cover undone or partially lifted, but I secure both ends of the covers so they can't lift them off the bikes.Blade wrote:
You can only go so far mate. Have you got any further with your gate ???
I mentioned that I looked at getting a gate fitted but only one bloke came back to me and that was a stupid price.
Guess what my neighbour does? Yep. He does ornate metalwork.
So he's going to ask at work if he can knock up a gate for our pathway. I've told him I'll cover material and labour and I'll sort out the padlocks. We've both agreed we won't mention it to his landlord.

Re: Insurance renewal time
So my neighbour called his landlord to tell him he's going t fit a gate
As expected the landlord has said no.
If he hadn't told him, he would never have known as the last time he came to the house was when he bought it, several years ago.

Re: Insurance renewal time
You and me both. I've no idea why he did it.
The landlord's dad lives near by so no doubt he'll be sent round to check up on things.

Re: Insurance renewal time
Surely the gate is an investment that the landlord won't have to pay for!?! Makes no sense to me at least!
