On the Street this week for the commute.

I do miss the protection you get from the fairings. I don't think I could do this commute on a naked all the time.

Got home early last night so gave the bike a wipe down with some of the plastic protector to stop it losing colour.

Fecking freezing this morning on the ride into work. Foggy as well. Loads of twunts driving without any lights on.

Aside from the lack of wind protection is the Street Triple much better for commuting especially the filtering aspect?

I know the SX looks big, but it's pretty nimble and the weight distribution is spot on, so filtering is pretty easy on it. The only issue with the SX is the mirror position but I've found out how to have them set up without worrying too much about taking out car mirrors.

I think the SX is better for the commute. It's taller, larger tank, easier to spot and better suited to crunching the boring miles on the motorway.

The ST is great fun but you're tempted to thrash it all the time. It's a giggle to ride it and that triple sound is addictive. I find myself undertaking and overtaking just so I can knock it down a couple of gears and open it up.

I removed a note someone had left on my bike saying,

"chain dangerously loose and in poor condition. I suggest you change it before you loose it or a leg."

On the plus side, the warning tape they used took some of the dirt off.

Did you correct them on their incorrect spelling of the word "lose"?

Had one about 4 months ago.

Spanner already showing another due.

Bad thing about doing high miles I guess.

Ordering a chain and sprocket kit and oil filter and try and do it myself. How hard can it be

They obviously don't know you are the Triumph test case for their blatant abuse data collection.

The ride home was broken by seeing 3 blokes on the side of the M40. Their van had broken down. Being builders they erected a lean too out of scaffold and their jackets. It was funny seeing them lying on the embankment sheltering from the rain.

Got home and washed the bike. I don't want road salt spending time on a Triumph

Rode the748 down to JHP to drop it off to have the fuelling sorted. Now waiting at Bham New Street for train home. Was a cracking ride down.

Gave it a wash.

I'm using it tomorrow and I haven't touched it since me and Monty had a play in the Peaks.

Had a fab day today. Went out for a 55mile ride with my dad. I wanted to do a quick test route to Mars to take a closer look at their lock up. It's very swanky!! Then we went off to Windsor and up to Runnymead for a cuppa and chill. I treated my dad to a drink and a cookie he loved the day
