Goretex boots

Post by Kwacky »

My TCX S-R1 boots have given up. The zip has gone on them. They've done me proud for 3 years having been worn pretty much every day since I've had them.

So any recommendations for replacements?

I'm tempted with their replacements https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorc ... rod/216831" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Blade seal of approval on Tankslap is like the Queen's seal on your Kelloggs Cornflakes.

I'll get some this week.

All joking aside worn them day in day out on euro trips and comfy and waterproof with no issues.

Not the gortex version, but crashed twice in tcx boots and never had any foot or ankle injuries.

Tcx are very good boots and underrated imo.

I agree. My old pair have been the best all rounders I've owned and I get through boots at a decent rate. Until I can justify the price of some Daytonas TCX will be my first choice for commuting.

Daytona's are mental money and not worth it imo. If Rossi and Co wear Dainese Axial pro which cost a 1/3 of Daytona''s that will be my choice until I win the lottery.

Why not get the zip repaired if they're still keeping you dry?

They way the boots are made to ensure they stay waterproof means that the whole boot needs to be deconstructed and then the zip will be replaced. Anyone who does that sort of work will charge a small fortune and won't guarantee that it'll be waterproof after the repairs have been done.

When the zip on my Goretex jacket went I asked around about repairs and they all said the same thing - no guarantees.

I've found a pair of the S-R1s for sale at £125 delivered so I've gone with another pair. I paid £200 for the last set so I know they're well worth the money.

ot a link? They are about $450 here in Aussie. If they have the Blade and Kwacky approval they must be good! My waterproof AStars are getting a bit tired.

The SR1's have got loads of protection, they're more of an every day sports boot. I've got the AXO Boots for weekends and track days.

Ebay UK. Search for "TCX Goretex". That brings up more pairs. My searches for TCX S R1 didn't show them up.

I had the last pair of Size 10s
