Did you fit a speedo healer? My spreadsheet says you would have been hitting the limiter at 166mph in sixth so your speedo seems very accurate.

No I haven't actually.. I used the same gear calculator as you and realise how accurate mine is, not as accurate as it used to be though.

It was 100% accurate based on the calculator with 0/+3 as I was on redline in 6th with an indicated 176mph and the theoretical is 176.3mph

Did you ever do a comparison against the gear calculator before getting the speedo healer?

The most I saw with stock gearing was 169mph at around 15500RPM which isn't accurate I don't think.. can't remember the numbers

Not on this bike Cav. Not fitted the new sprockets yet, I've only had them for 6 weeks!

But will test the standard gearing on my satnav next time I go out

If I were you, pick a gear to redline (2nd or 3rd would be my recommendation) then take note of the speed and compare against the gear calculator. I typically see 99mph in 2nd.

What gearing have you gone to? -1/+3 with a 60 profile is definitely the gearing to go for !! Probably going to revert to 0/+3 for Catalunya though because very fast straight !!

LOL yeah not sure there is a road in the Peaks I could hit the limiter in sixth!

I've gone -1 +1, so with a 55 section tyre it will be very similar to yours.

Sounds pretty good to me.. you will love it !!

You should get a spare rear wheel with a 60 profile and a +3 sprocket... BecauseTrack.

Don't be a wimp!! 166mph feels great haha

I was thinking about doing that but in reality I just won't be doing enough track days. Severe lack of time and money!

The bike is being slowly set up as a back road (b road) scratcher! Probably should have got a supermoto really but I can only have one bike and that's never going to be a supermoto.

What are you doing to make it what you're after then? What exactly makes a road a B Road scratcher??

-1 +1, the rest is just great already (lol)

Well it is now I've got rid of those horrible tyres, man they were bad.

Can't remember which way around it was but one was a BT020 and one a BT023. Think the front was the 23, but not sure.

This is what happened to the front after an afternoon of trying to sit on the back wheel of a Panigale. You could actually feel the steps in the tyre when you pushed the bike.

That's horrendous!

What have you got on their now? I found the Dunlop Sportsmarts really suited my bike - I even got kneedown at 120mph on them on the road.

M7 RRs, very good on the road and should be OK for the odd track day.

I've had 3 or 4 sets of the Sportsmarts, really rated them and loved the GPs

You'd love the Peaks, you get grass in your helmet vents!

That's a terrible profile Monty. The bike must steer so much quicker on the M7RR (y)

Chalk and cheese Blade, I had real doubts about the bike before I swapped them and couldn't really gel with it. Totally different bike now and I love it.

Not surprised tbh Monty apart from the abuse you have given it the profile is very rounded and not best suited to a supersport bike imo.

Why do people buy a sportsbike and then fit sports touring tyres to get a few more miles out of them but alot less enjoyment. False economy imo.

M7RR have very good reviews so not surprised your a happy chappy. Enjoy it now yiu have it how you want it.

Hopefully the same sort of guy that keeps a bike for 6 years, does 6000 miles and polishes the headers with a toothbrush on his day off ;)
