Attacks in Brussels

Post by Kwacky »

It sounds like there have been at least two bombs going off this morning.

There are also reports of attacks in their Metro train system

FFS can the world just stop fighting and killing each other and just live in peace.

What sort of world are the current generation of politicians leading us in to?

Well said Duke

Problem is the world lives and thrives on hate, war and being scared...because there's massive business in it, even our governments are involved in it selling weapons etc. If we lived in peace governments would loose out and they can't allow that to happen!!

I feel sorry for the next generation to be honest because now we live next door to these sickos, we know these twats and we have taught them everything they need to know about it! Think I've mentioned about my partners friend at school who got arrested for plotting a terrorist attack and for having the ingredients to do it...my partner said he was alright at school nice fella everyone got along with him. Makes me sick really makes me angry!

I'm not sure what sickens me most, these ruthless attacks or the stupid fecktard response from certain sections of British society.

Why can't they see that this is exactly what the "terrorists" want, that's why they do it. Clue's in the name.

these people use military grade explosives and guns and ammunition , they don't make these things themselves , we must therefore conclude that they are being supplied by people who do make these things , lets not demonise the muslim faith but rather lets demonise the industrialists and politicians who allow radicals of all religions to be armed in order to increase their profits

There are millions of muslims in the UK. If they wanted us dead we wouldn't be here.

I don't remember calls for the nuking of Ireland when the IRA were doing their thing in the UK.

There's no right answer....the alternative would be a Police state in which everyone's freedoms come under scrutiny and/or are restricted....in which case everyone loses and we play into their hands, legitimising the entire 'process'. The price that we pay is that occasionally this sort of thing will happen from time to time. The blessing is that this sort of thing doesn't happen more often than it does already.

When I become Prime Minister all that's going to change though.

I'm a big fan of leaving the middle east to sort out the problems in the middle east. Could you imagine how we would have reacted if Saudi sent their army into Belfast to sort out the Ireland problem?

Kwacky.. at this current time, we cannot do anything right - we can't leave because we have made things worse but we can't stay because we are still making it worse. The west has made their bed now WE have to sleep in it

That's a worthy point. The question of oil supply/demand to the West would rear it's head, as it always does, but that issue is more symbolic than anything else these days. We seem to be still picking up the tab from the legacy of an empire that disintegrated generations ago. Main issue would seem to be 'what would we be letting ourselves in for??'....It's an unknown, and despite the massive PITA the region causes as a whole, that fear of the unknown is unquantifiable.

Jews and arabs are the same race of people, divided as much by politics as religion.

Its the same problem Ireland had where successive generations are are bought up to believe that different people with different ideals are the enemy by religious and political leaders.

It will be sorted when ordinary people say they have had enough, as happened in Ireland, and not sorted by a bullet or a bomb or closing borders. The borders themselves were a big part of the problem in Ireland.

Sadly at times like this we see the true face of some people. Some of the rants on Facebook and Twitter are staggering. It saddens me to see such bigotry at times when we should be pulling together.

I can understand why the news tends to report more on the issues closer to home, that's fair enough. But what I don't like is this "us and them" approach we're being force fed, as if the entire Muslim population is out to get us and that it's the recent immigrants who are causing all of the attacks.

I like Channel 4 news as it's a lot more balanced than the watered down crap BBC and ITV dish out.
