A bit of market research regarding motorcycle recovery
Following on from the thread regarding vehicle recovery, I am doing a bit of market research for a project I am working on, so your views would be greatly appreciated.
If you had the opportunity to buy a recovery/breakdown insurance which included -
Recovery after a crash as standard as well as a conventional breakdown.
Legal expenses insurance included
Recovery to aywhere in the UK
Recovered by a specialist motorcycle recovery company
Guaranteed to be on site within 1 hour or financial compensation paid
1, would you be interested, and 2, how much would you be prepared to pay?
It is still eary days and as I said it is just a bit of market research to get an idea of what the interest might be.

Re: A bit of market research regarding motorcycle recovery
After my crash no one else involved it had to be picked up by the police (which was the recovery company which covered that area). I tried to get the bike picked up at the scene of the accident but they were not allowed.
"80mph" sorry officer I possibly could not have done that I'm no Valentino Rossi.

What's the usual price for annual cover and is crash related recovery usually included or excluded?

Crash recovery is usually excluded unless you pay an additional hefty premium.Kwacky wrote:What's the usual price for annual cover and is crash related recovery usually included or excluded?
Price can vary from company to company

I think Carole Nash would have recovered the bike under the terms of the accident insurance rather than the breakdown cover.

The CBR600 I lowsided on black ice. I didn't make a claim.
The zx6r was shovelled into bin bags and thrown into the back of a transit van.

Re: A bit of market research regarding motorcycle recovery
When I crashed the bike was recovered from the scene by police/recovery vehicle, and I just forwarded the costs to the insurance company. Never had anything come back. I hadn't even considered it would be anything other than this.
The bike was in a thousand pieces anyway, so the recovery firm could keep it for all I cared.

Re: A bit of market research regarding motorcycle recovery
I collected the bike from the recovery agent and the insurance paid my mates costs for collecting the bike and the recovery firms costs
