Chinese fairings

Post by kingfixer »

Well after having them delivered last week this is the first chance I have had to look at them properly, quality about 95% just a few tiny blemishes in the lacquer. I put a couple of pieces together tonight to see how they were, very easy indeed and you get every single nut , washer, fixing etc with a guide for which ones go where , very good !!.
I'll try them on the bike at some point in January once I get it back after having the swingarm swapped over.
Overall very happy for the cost of them, and as they are only going to be track fairings I'm not bothered about the tiny blemishes.

Fleabay mate, there are a few Chinese traders selling Ducati fairings, £370 all in. Took only 3 weeks which I didn't think was bad.

Spot on, looks great, cheaper than a set of unpainted track faring, it's a bargain :)

Looks good, Mick. Are you going to keep the headlight on?

I'm not planning on doing loads of track days so I'm not bothering with taking all the front light housing out, I can just leave them switched off for track days. You can order the nose cone without holes for headlights off a different supplier but I didn't bother.

Does the bike have the same steering traits as the 916 series? i.e very stable when cranked over but takes a little effort to turn?

As it has CF wheels it drops into corners very easily it takes a bit of getting used to TBH, it will be interesting when I get on track with it.

I was really impressed with the quality of the fairings I got for the RSV.

The only advice I would give from my experience is to add a but of extra fiberglass resin to the tabs. A few of mine have broken off, and the hugger is toast. I recon v-twins vibe a bit more than they expected.

Can't wait to see the bike though.
