2016 biking plans

Post by Kwacky »

Anyone got anything lined up or got a "must do" they need to itch?

It looks like another year where things are going to be subject to what happens with loved ones, but all being well I want to make sure I get to do the following:-

Tankslap track day. Last summer was a wash out. Poor old D6Nutz on his own in the rain. Not good. No repeats for 2016.

Isle of Man - I missed going this year and would like to

Europe - a trip on the SX is on the cards, even if it's just for a couple of days. It's what the big kwak was made for.

Off to Skeggness once again next year for the long weekend for MCN Live

Hoping a track day

Maybe Europe trip or Tankslap IoM weekend

And a few Wales ride days

However much of this subject to my mates wedding, if it goes on or not which I'm unsure yet, it will be in Thailand so that will rule out a lot of biking actives as I will be saving for flights and hotel!

2016 will be the year of the track.

I'm planning on at least 4 days on track: Oulton will be one of them and I'd like to make a return to Donington. I will hopefully be doing a Euro trip too but at the moment we are uncertain between Catalunya, Aragon and Portimao. Aragon is my favourite at the minute.

As for the road I will be hoping to get to explore the roads of Wales for a long weekend - Following the coast pretty much, Aberwysthwiththtrihs, Angelesey, then back down through Newtown etc.

I would love a trip to IOM again and really fancy an open pit lane or two at Oulton and Silverstone.

I may also consider some track instruction with motovudu. Will read the book and watch the dvd first but keep hearing good things.

A new bike for best, if funds allow of course. I have a track day credit with no limits to use up and bust my track cherry wide open, maybe on the VFR Europe ride also at some point. Maybe Ireland?

Riding one of them!

Road wise, this year has been crap. I doubt I've done more than a couple of thousand miles. That is something I intend to rectify next year.

I also want to broaden my horizons on UK tracks.

Have you travelled the Emerald Isle ? Great scenery but the roads are pretty crap imho, far better to head down south in Europe

I've been a few places in Ireland by car. I'm leaning towards another adventure style bike anyway I think so the shite roads won't seem as shite. They didn't on my Tiger 800XC compared to the stiffer VFR and R1 sussies. Can't see myself on a sports bike again. I've been using my brothers R1 to get about on. Not for me anymore.
