Worth every penny. Good investment and always easy to sell on and recover a large proportion of the initial outlay which you can't if you got an oem item reworked.

Perks thinking about your pm have you considered ktech they do a very good shock and I think they do a lite version which is a few hundred cheaper.

Other option is buy mine (happy) mates rates of course ;)

No only ohlins mate. I believe they had exclusive access to the oem ecu when developing the electronic steering damper.

Ktech was just another option and a good shock.

I've also always wanted to try a maxton shock and very popular with the pure road racers.

I'm fairly certain it was a Maxton I had on my Daytona. That was from an Isle of Man TT bike.

I think Maxton is very good kit and always had good service there from Richard and would really like to try one of their shocks. Only negative imo is harder to recover a big portion of the initial cost when selling on.

Ohlins is like gold ;) and easy to move on. The stuff sells itself tbh.

I realise alot of people will buy for them as the first time owner and not consider resale value which is fair enough but when your throwing £1400 into one single shock absorber it's nice to get a good wedge of your hard earned back.

The only reason I went for the Maxton shock was the price. I knew the bloke, he had raced a D600 and after the IoM he was breaking the bike. I think I paid £200 for it. It was a quality piece of kit though.

Agreed. It meant I had enough money left over to buy some Beringer brake discs (devil)

£200 IS A BARGAIN.

Sought of proves my theory of it going cheap second hand too. Fortunately you were on the right side of the deal (y)

In fairness when you compare other shocks on like for like specification, Ohlins are quite reasonable but I fully know what you mean.

I suppose Ohlins will always be at the cutting edge of technology due to their experience, knowledge base and funds. However, there are many other companies that now do products with just as good quality like for like, and it won't be long for other companies have readily available semi active sussies.

You probably know more than me D6 but I'm pretty sure Sachs were one if the first to the semi active party.
