Re: What are you doing today ??
Ha ha it's going to have to be, I have stripped all the panels and inner panel off, to find lots and lots of bits of plastic in the bottom of the door, I assume we're once two brackets which slide up and down and hold the glass in place!!
I really don't have time for this, gaffa tape/bodge will have to hold until next weekend starting new job on Monday and will be on a train for most of Sunday so don't have any time left. Ah well these things are sent to try us, this is certainly doing that lol.....

Been to airport again and cancelled again.
Blaming it on weather saying flights can't take off even though it's blues skies and you can see planes in the sky.
No flybe staff anywhere in airport just sub contract staff who know nothing. Absolute diabolical.
Had 2 set of taxi fees, hotel and course cancellation charges, 2 flight tickets and I've lost 2 days wages as can't get to work.
Wankers

That's bad when you lose 2 days salary. Does your company pay all the other fees though?

Re: What are you doing today ??
Wasted 7 hours at the airport the last 2 days that and the lost income are the annoying part.
There blaming the cancellations on weather. But checked departure board and flights have taken off, it's blue skies and you can see aircraft in the sky above so there talking sh1t.

It's all over Europe. Planes have been grounded so many are in the wrong airports.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Thing is Kwacky the Aberdeen plane was in position at Manchester as I was stood at gate 18 in front of it last night and it's not gone anywhere even though blue skies and other planes have took off from Manchester this morning. It's annoying as cost me a lot of wasted time, 2 days wages and we could have done something as a family yesterday. Just a big waste of time and money for no seeable reason.

Aberdeen looks like it's having problems.

Re: What are you doing today ??
It's more than an inconvenience if your on the receiving end of being out of pocket and there is no fog here and the aircraft is sat on the tarmac.
All to often decisions are made on what computers say. Common sense has gone out of the window. There was an aircraft in position, no fog and clear skies with other planes taking off and landing at Manchester. Absolutely no safety reason why we couldnt go today which is frustrating and annoying.
I'm out of pocket and had my time wasted.
In hotels and course fees etc my employer is out of pocket well over £1000.

Re: What are you doing today ??
It's not as simple as taking a plane and throwing it up in the air.
Staff are on set hours, which they're not allowed to go over. So if a crew goes out of hours, they have to replace them. If an aircraft misses its slot, it has to wait for another slot. Delays cost airplanes a shedload of money. Simply leaving an aircraft on the tarmac costs them money as they have to pay fees.
If they could get that bird into the air, they would.
