Finally got to see the move in a decent resolution (ie ITV highlights not various dodgy youtube copies). Looks like Rossi was acting a tosser.

I've only watched it tonight after avoiding all social media and radio which in the light of things, was no mean task (sweat)

I'm a Rossi fan but also believe what he did was wrong ... ok, IMO he meant to force MM wide to get a bit of clear track to close the front two down.
But I also believe he didnt mean to make MM crash .

As mentioned, I believe he was wrong BUT had this of been the first race of the 2015 season, it wouldnt be commented on or scrutinised half as much as it has

Fair penalty in my opinion

It's great shows passion and makes for great conversation. I don't agree with what he did but heat of the moment shows how much rossis wants the title.
"80mph" sorry officer I possibly could not have done that I'm no Valentino Rossi.

I wonder which Rossi we will see at Valencia though, I'd like to see him bounce back and win the title from this. If Lorenzo were to win he'd need to beat everyone else and make it in to second to win it which I think would be good to watch.

Can't remeber the exact year but I think it was 2004 from memory. Rossi was penalised and told to start the Qatar race from the back of the grid as a penalty for his team cleaning his grid spot. He crashed charging through the field. Let's hope he does better this time round.

Contrast that to 2012 when Marquez was penalised at Valencia and told to start from the back of the grid, which he did and went on to win the race (rock) The bar has been set high.
If Rossi is going to win his 10th title it will be beyond special it will legendary.

Iannone posting photos on his Facebook page of him and Vale together on the podium.

Could turn out to be an Italy v Spain race in Valencia. :D

Watched it again tonight with Spudlet 2 and the over head shot does 'appear' that Rossi stuck his knee in to MM's fairing

He did but only as they came together and it would be a natural reaction to stop the two bikes being tangled together and taking both riders down. Not defending Rossi but personally I didn't see the knee as an act of malice.

I watched the overhead too after reading this to see as I'd only seen the side view. the side view appears that MM's head makes contact first but on the overhead it looks more like his shoulder and as the contact is made Rossis leg comes off the peg. If he hadn't have run him wide it wouldn't have happened though but it was definitely a tough one to call, really hard to say if the contact was the cause of the leg coming out or if he was trying to push him away.

I think it all stems from rossi talking himself into losing the title by not being able to keep up with Lorenzo which triggered this spat with MM and resulting in what may well be him losing the title because of it.

Not directly related but a very interesting article written by Matt Oxley about other high profile racers admitting to getting dirty on track.

Definitely worth a read.

If you read the Emmett article his suggestion makes sense - MM was expecting Rossi to turn for the corner, so he guessed when Rossi would tip the bike in and went for it. He got it wrong as Rossi stayed upright. I really don't think Marquez intentionally headbutted Rossi or his bike.

Well I finally got to watch the race last night, and man what a race it was....I was on the edge of my seat, I enjoyed it a lot.

To be fair it was obvious that one or both would end up on the deck before the race ended if they had carried on like that.

Red mist comes to mind.... :)

Best race I have seen for a while, shame it ended the way it did.
