Re: Volkswagen
Might be time to buy some cheap shares in the car giant. They won't be down for long.

Re: Volkswagen
Volkswagen group own Ducati.
I would if the fall out from all this will reach as far as Ducati ? Will budgets for R&D be cut or new model releases be put on hold ?

I doubt it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did for Red Bull's hope of a new engineBlade wrote:Volkswagen group own Ducati.

Re: Volkswagen
Ducati would be snapped up by a new buyer in an instant if it were put up for sale. Their sales are boomimg.
Ducati is actually owned by Lamborghini which is owned by Audi.

Re: Volkswagen
Yes but its a very complex set up apparently. I have no idea where Porsche and Bugatti fit into the set up.

Re: Volkswagen
Loads of audis and skodas have been declared by vw to have same software now too. I'm not surprised as the engines are the same.
Just another excuse for the bureaucrats to tax and ban diesel. I won't buy another diesel due to the looming tax and city centre taxes that will come.

Re: Volkswagen
The nitrous oxide issue, which is what the VW thing is all about, is very easy to fix with a bottle of blue piss apparently.

Re: Volkswagen
Problem with the "pigs piss" (Adblue & Bluetec) remedy is that the chemical reaction only works above 600C, and the biggest impact of Nox is in Cities where the exhaust temps don't get that hot very often, plus the big heavy catalyser-ish exhaust box and electronic piss injection system you need, other than that it's great - oh except for the particulate issue, it does absolutely nothing for that, that'll need yet another piece of kit to either burn or capture the particles of semi-burnt fuel. The days of diesels in cars are numbered I think.duke63 wrote:The nitrous oxide issue, which is what the VW thing is all about, is very easy to fix with a bottle of blue piss apparently.

Re: Volkswagen
Still dont understand why they just don't ban all vehicles other than electric from city centres.

Re: Volkswagen
Couldn't agree more, apart from the initial cost it's a far better idea, that'd give the pikeys a shock if they tried to syphon your tank.
