This ^^

Being angry, whilst entirely understandable, will not gain you anything.
Missing the deadline of your son's birthday & then lying to you is breach of contract IMO. You should think acre fully about what you feel would be a justified recompense for the inconvenience & upset they have caused you, and then clearly request it.
If they decline, threaten to cancel the order & take your future business (and those of your friends) elsewhere.

They don't necessarily know this, unless you tell them, Also it doesn't stop you making the same threat (it will just be a hollow one that you will not follow through).

Cheers guys but I will stick with these guys and they know I'm not happy.

I will see if they offer anything else but tbh they have heavily discounted a 2016 bike already so not much room to haggle as already raped them (that's why they got the order in the first place) and no where else would even discount.

I'm not defending them but I reckon I'm better sticking with it tbh rather than starting again.

Thanks again for the help but I just needed to vent tbh (blush)

It won't be late for my Lad's birthday but I have a collection deadline as I'm busy and don't want to give the missus the hassle of collecting hence why I ordered early in the first place and his birthday is 2 weeks away so no probs. If I can't collect tomorrow at the latest they will be delivering it or regretting there actions very much. Dont worry im no shrinking violet I'm pretty good at getting my own way in these kind of situations tbh ;)

It will get sorted to my satisfaction I m confident.

Thanks again for the advice though it is appreciated.

The so called cycle hut in Halfords put my rear tyre on the wrong way round. There's a direction of rotation and everything on the sidewall. I could use it and maybe be perfectly fine but it will play on my mind, so back it goes, hahaha.

When you go to the bike shop to pick the bike up, collect a handful of accessories for it and say "these should make up for my son being upset on his birthday".

See what response you get.

I reckon you'll get a couple of freebies.

Been scaring cockneys (giggle) Boy are they a jumpy lot (nod)

Been traveling on the underground with one of this travel cases on wheels. Every time I come to steps I have to stop to push the handle down. We I come to a stop the scrape on the floor makes a right shriek which had people jumping every time. In the end I started to look forward to coming across stairs as it was fast becoming a fun little game for me (lol)
