Anyone running a 200 section rear ?
Considering this as next tyre.
My 190 is worn right to the edge so a little extra tyre width would help but I have heard it can slow the steering down a little ? And I'm wondering how it will effect stability as the bike is quite lively so wouldn't want it decreasing stability.

Re: 200 Section Rear
I can't run a 200 rear, apparently it snags the chain.

Re: 200 Section Rear
I've never tried this but I don't think it will be any wider as the wheel is the same width, so the tyre bead will be in the same place as the 190. If anything I would imagine it would just make the tyre taller.

Re: 200 Section Rear
I thought that too Monty but if the side wall is at an angle, slight offset from the rim it would be wider I think
Prove will be in the pudding I guess. I ve heard mixed reviews with some people suggesting it slowed the turn in a lot which I like to be quick and agile. However the my 190 tyre is worn to the edge so it would make sense to add more rear rubber is my thinking ?
Tbh I'm not sure what to do but just wanted to canvas opinion / advice ideally from someone who has tried a 190 and a 200 rear on the same bike but all comments are welcome and appreciated. Cheers.

Re: 200 Section Rear
My rsv4 runs a 200 rear, i thought it was a 190 until i went to change it lol.
Cant say i noticed it... just handles fantastic. I think the earlier RSVs actually used a 190.

Re: 200 Section Rear
I always thought the widths quoted are the tread width and not the width at the bead that fits the rim of the wheel.
So a 200 would be 10mm wider than a 190 on the tread.

I know this article refers to 180 vs 190 but the gist is still the same.
