Xbox One Surround Sound

Never really considered this before as I'm not really a gamer.

But is it worth plugging the kids xbox one into the surround amp ? Do the games have surround effect ?

Yes, they usually run in DTS these days which is 6 channel sound, you do need an amp with the correct speakers etc, but standard stuff. You may need to change a few settings on the Xbox to tell it too, depends how you connect the amp to the Xbox.

Usually it's hdmi these days but it could be optical cable or coax too..

I will connect via hdmi but do have some digital optical and coax leads if needed.

The speakers are 5.1 plugged into a Denon amp

You'll be fine then, probably just a setting on the Xbox to tell it to use surround then
