Shame it didn't work out cookie, but at least your now closer to the decision on the 899 (y) ;)

It does show the power of marketing. I had bought a tracer in my head until I took one for a test ride. As much as I wanted to like it, I didn't. I simply didn't gel with it. I think Yamaha have a different design strategy to other bike makers. Triumph, Kwak and best of all Honda all do well at making a bike you sit on then ride and feel instantly at home.

Actually just thought, you could always buy Jane the 899 as a present, as your such a nice husband ;)

Being an even nicer husband you could always run it in for her, and also take it on the odd road test to check its safety for here ;)

The cheapest s/h 899 i have seen is £9995 from a bloke desperate to sell to pay his tax bill. Most of them are £10-11k+.

I'll take my time. Test rides first, decision after.

There will always be people who buy bikes they can't afford and then need to sell quick. That's how I got the RC8, guy was desperate, I had the cash.

I like to take my time shopping and finding the right deal than strike and get a storming deal.

cookie have you ridden the new ducati monster ? they are amazing fun bikes and can do everything well with bags of character

There is only one bike in that Ducati dealership with your name on it Cookie and it so happens to also have 899 written on the side (rock)
