£550 for a new ttx is less than cost by a big margin. I would snap there hand off at that price if it is genuinely a new ttx36.

That's the problem! The shock off the 675r is not the same as Ohlins top of the range ttx36. Not even close apparently! The Ohlins on the 675r is ok but not in the same league as decent aftermarket suspension.

I had heard the new model 675r has a genuine ttx rear shock. I take it the first 675r's didn't ?

Keep your eye on motoforum Andy. Somr decent kit comes up but always goes quick too. Might be worth posting in the wanted section or checking the classified section daily.

As far as I know, neither shock is a genuine top of the range Ohlins ttx. It is just a shock made for triumph by Ohlins to a price and spec. The 2013+ daytona is softer than the -12 but that could be partly down to geometry changes etc.
I've been looking on motoforum and tdr but not seen anything come up.

On a happier note, I've just picked up my wheel complete with new tyre, the quickshifter and crash protection is back on. I've ordered an exhaust gasket so I can fit a scorpion exhaust I've had knocking round but never fitted. That should come tuesday. I've got a hyper pro steering damper mount coming wednesday and then I'm ready to play (sun) (sun) (sun)

Get the ohlins shock fitted and it beggars the question why would you want to change, sounds a right weapon 8)

Andy how old is the bike? Recon you'd be far better off spending a few hundred quid on the front if your bike is standard and over 3 years old. An oil change on the front would make considerably more difference than a new rear shock however good the shock is.

It's a 2010 Daytona 675. I took it up to Maxton last year to get the suspension set up. They commented that the rear shock was garbage. They said any adjustments to it did little or nothing. By contrast they said the front end felt like it had work done on it. I've noticed myself how stiff the rear feels and I do seem to get through rear tyres pretty quickly. It's not urgent that I change the shock as I see an 899 in my future but if a shock comes up that I won't lose money on, then I'll have it!
