It's a lovely it's very comfortable, great mirrors and a peach of an engine, kwacky thinks the suspension is on the soft side but it felt very good to me.You could ride it all day the seating and position is very comfortable
I'm really struggling with the gearbox on mine and its pissing me off ,if I had some spare cash I would px it for something else.Ive got an Oberon clutch slave to put on it hopefully that will make a difference

Sx sounds good, cheers Perkles.

What's the problem with the gearbox ????

I believe Sato do a support for the gearbox linkage that will help. Oberon mc should make the action a lot lighter and are great quality. Fancied one for the SP but they don't make one unfortunately.

I'm sure you probably know all about the Sato shift support but if not hopefully this helps. Scroll down to near the bottom.

I have the sato gearbox linkage support and also sato rearsets to compliment, which both help a lot. Both for sale of your interested perkles?

The Oberon helps more when the bike is warm and makes the clutch more consistent and a little lighter. The standard clutch slave is shit and made of plastic. It overheats when the bike is being ridden with gusto...

I've got a sato fitted thanks, for some reason it sometimes won't go into 5th or sixth it just feels solid and the linkage won't budge.YOu have to pull the clutch In and out and then it eventually goes in its a bit of a lottery to get it to change gear,.going down the box is fine no false neutrals or anything,it's a shame because it ruins a stonking bike

Broke it...

The collector was due to be replaced, and 5 miles from stow it reminded me of this as it blew a 2 inch hole in the pipe. I've never heard something quite so loud!!

Limped the bike into stow, met the guys for tea and cake and called the RAC. Bit of metal pipe and some gun gum and I made it home.

Good job I'd bought the new collector a few months back. My ears are ringing from the ride home though (bandit)

What year is your bike? There was a major recall for 2008 and 2009 bikes. Do you know the date of manufacture. Might be worth a chat with ktm dealer locally as they will see if it had the recall for some gearbox internals.

I get the odd false neutral on mine, nothing else.

The gear boxes are known to be a bit agricultural but mine seems to be getting worse

It's registered 010 it's had the recall done ,mine never gives false neutrals just a pig to get into gear and very clunky
I might sell it private and go shopping or there again I might put up with it and enjoy the bike for this year
If I could get a good p/x against a second hand zx10r I would go for it :)

Went to see Nige and Di at Donington this afternoon and also saw some bloke called Michael Dunlop on a new R1. Obviously one for the future.

Stopped for fuel on the way back and had to try and help a guy bump start his 09 Fireblade. His battery was well and truly **** though. Fortunately he was only 3 miles from home and despite me offering to take him home he wanted to stay with the bike and ring for help.
