196 bhp superbikes
Both the new S1000RR and the 1299 Panigale made this when measured in this week's MCN test. I assume its RWBHP but it just says 'measured' in the article.
Quite astonishing levels of power when you think about it, same as Carlos Checa's WSBk Chamipionship winning 1098 made 195bhp at the crank just 4 years ago.
New R1 made 189bhp and the ZX10 181bhp.
The R1 was fastest round Jerez with the 1299 second and the ZX10 Just being faster than the S1000RR.

Re: 196 bhp superbikes
Read the MCN article and they have said R1 is sportsbike of the year.
It was over 3 seconds a lap quicker at Jerez over the s1000rr although the 1299 ran it very close.

Re: 196 bhp superbikes
If the zx10 makes 181 bhp I reckon I should get 190 bhp when I take the cat off and fit a race can.

Re: 196 bhp superbikes
It was the bog standard R1 against the BMW with optional performance pack and forged wheels as well.
The R1m would presumably be even quicker.

Re: 196 bhp superbikes

The beauty of the latest electronics is that it makes these bikes available and useable to riders who are not Motogp/WSBK standard.
Like Blade i would love to own one at some point.

Re: 196 bhp superbikes
I m going to enjoy my new bike which has pretty much all the tech barring a quick shifter and auto blipper but next bike is going to be R1, beemer or 1299 as these really are the absolute pinnacle of road going motorcycles.

@Perkles. I've edited the above post I don't know why it had the wrong smiley originally. Sorry mate I didn't post it intentionally, just my fat fingers.
