Yes indeed, I was reading the report, which was varied on numbers to say the least! Hope it is sorted without incident.

It looks like it's come to or is coming to a close.
The guy involved sounds like a horrible piece of work.

They used Stun grenades.Kwacky wrote:They like those grenades, don't they?
There is some leaked videos on social media of hostages being forced to list Man Haron Monis' demands that were sent to media outlets.
But unbeknownst to him, police had a closed meeting with media and asked them not to release anything they recieved from anyone within the siege, knowing the way Monis liked to work the media. One of them was the lass who got shot prior to the police storming.

They would be better off not giving this sort of thing the media coverage it gets, as that's the only reason these nutters do these things.

I don't think it's the only reason, but it would go a long way to stopping it IMO also.duke63 wrote:They would be better off not giving this sort of thing the media coverage it gets, as that's the only reason these nutters do these things.

It's a bit hard these days. Pretty much everyone has the ability to take videos and post them online.

Re: Suspected Jihadist Siege in Sydney
I think because the media has to fill 24 hours of space they overkill on everything.
I try and avoid television and radio news coverage as much as possible because most of it is of no interest to me and in any case i don't need to hear all the bad stuff going on in the world.
Maybe all these governments who bleat about all this going on in their country ought to take a long hard look as to why its going on in their country and what they can do to make their society more inclusive in the right way. It sounds like this individual needed some help with some serious mental health problems but didn't get it and also that the wider society might have needed protecting from those very same problems.
