Didn't work though, just made a odd noise and gave you a funny feeling in your trousers!

I admit that swapping from the ZX6r to the speed triple showed me how much I had been using the slipper clutch without even realising.

At the same time, although a bit off putting, it's kind of cool when the back locks and weaves on the down shift.

One of the best mods I did on the SP2 was fit a slipper clutch, but then a big twin will probably benefit the most from such a mod.

I don't even think about it on the kwak. Bang down a few gears and carry on.

That's because you have a slipper clutch. Sounds like its working that smoothly you don't even notice it.

Dukes info makes sense, given Ducati had to use rear wheel speed control to prevent lock ups, not sure extra engine braking will be a lot of use though. Looks great on the dash though. :)

I do but I also want to buy a second car this year and can't justify blowing so much cash as the car will set me back a lot and the bikes I like are £10-150000. Had a conversation with the missus about it and her advice was get the bike and buy the car next year, haha.
Agree with the Mrs. Cars are too boring unless you spend silly money on them. Get the bike ;)
.

You seen the new 2015 s1000rr I have got to wait to change the bike until next year now (y)

They're usually found in race engines, so I guess that explains the reasoning behind the engine braking management with the electronics package. Perhaps someone more technical can explain?

I'm also guessing that means there's a quickshifter on the bikes to make the most of the quicker changes?

A "Dog ring" gearbox is a conventional motorcycle gearbox in my book, the dog clutch itself has been around since the days of steam, maybe earlier.

The selector drum is clicked clockwise or anticlockwise by the gear change, the lines cut into the selector drum move the selector forks left or right depending on the gearbox, as the forks move the gears one disengages as the next one engages.
The "teeth" you can see that fit together are normally slightly tapered and wider at the outer end of the teeth, so they can't slip apart when they drive, in fact they pull towards each other under either power or overrun. That prevents slipping out of gear under full power which can be disastrous for a bike gearbox.

Your probably right, but ohlins seems to have the image I think, the wp on your RC8 is also very good.

Ohlins are popular with racers and they won't buy bling but rather what works in lowering lap times.

Most Ohlins racing stuff is custom made. They do deals with racers, the more popular the racer the less the stuff costs. It's all good exposure along the lines of Win on Sunday Sell on Monday. The Ohlins damper on my kwak isn't as good as the majority of steering dampers but people "oooh, look, Ohlins".

It's like the Brembo calipers. You need to spend mega bucks to get their quality items.
