D6's (up)grades

Post by D6 »

My new tyres and arrow cans. Also noticed when I took the pics that there's some logo about an endurance race thing.

The cans look good, but would look much better with a tail tidy.

That chain looks like it's gagging for some oil :D

It can have some oil on my next service.

It got oiled at 600 miles (should have been 500) and 9000 miles (should have been 6000) And I've just gone past 12,000miles so should have another service, but as I've just payed for tyres, and my screen isn't saying to service, I'm not doing it yet.

So In a few thousand more miles it should get done. At least the chain just got adjusted..... when they fitted the tyres. So I'm sure everythings perfect.

I'll just buy a new set I think.

Tail tidy first, hand guards are a wast of time imo. I have them on the tiger, they make no difference what so ever. I even had a bloody rock fly up and hit my hand, I thought I had broken my fingers, how it got past the guard I have no idea!

Heated grips would be a better item to fit. I love mine, they even come as standard on the S1R ha ha toasty :)

Conversely the hand guards on my Tiger really do keep a lot of the windblast and 70% of the rain off, combined with heated gloves they really keep my hands nice and warm. However if I was commuting regularly I'd be up for some of those handlebar muffs, maybe even the heated variety, had a gut full of hands so cold the fingers didn't work years back. Never again.

I think your over oiling that chain, 2 drips in 12000 miles should be OK (giggle)

I gave it a quick wash today, and the castrol bike cleaner stuff was really really slippy. So that should lube it enough. It is so slippy i though maybe it wasn't a good idea to spray it on the discs. Look shiney now though,.
