Refinishing fork legs

Post by Roadrace »

I'm currently restoring an NC29 to as close as showroom condition as possible.
I have a huge collection of spares so decided to overhall and rebuild a set of forks. I decided to have the fork legs powder coated in silver. Although they look tremendous fitted to the bike, and to most people, may even look original.

However, they're slightly niggling me, and I would like to strip down my spare forks and have the legs bead blasted and refinished (not painted or powder coated) to original condition.

Has anyone any idea who may provide this service?

Refinishing fork legs

Post by Roadrace »

I live in South Wales, but really don't mind where in the UK the forks will have to be taken/sent.

A friend of mine runs a powder coating company (as a side note, he used to be an SB member - Funkyboogalooo. Remember him Kwacky?!), so blasting and coating really aren't an issue.

I'm aware that there are companies that can provide brushed aluminium finishes etc, but what I'd ideally like.....and I'm not quite sure how to describe it.....is an original, just off the production line finish.

Not even sure I'm making any sense!!

Oh, but thanks for taking the time to search :-)
