Did anyone actually enjoy that circuit on a bike? I was going well round there and was barely lower than 4th gear, more than one corner was in 6th

I guess what I'm trying to say is, it was more scary than enjoyable.. knee down in 5th and 6th gear is only going to end fine, or VERY badly... not much room for in between.

Fwiw I've never been to Silverstone Cav'. I was offered a free trackday there about 10y ago, but it would have been on my RS250 & I was advised (by a very much more knowledgeable track rider) that the track was "more suited to high capacity machines, and amongst the least rewarding to ride". That advice, (coupled with logistic & timescale issues) caused me to pass on the offer.

I've never done it. It was always a very expensive circuit save everyone I spoke to said it was basically flat out everywhere.

I'd agree with everything said above. It's flat yet somehow you can't see exit curbs resulting in never fully using the track. I did a 2.26 and there were at least 5 seconds easy to be picked off that because of poor visibility and track knowledge. There was at least a further 5 seconds off just from fear of how high speed everything is.

For example... braking at the end of Hangar Straight, I was hitting the limiter in 6th yet I still needed to wait until the corner began to start braking. Then it was a top of 4th, middle of 5th gear corner before a bumpy braking into a section with HUGE sausage curbs!!!

Done it a few times on Ducati trackdays.

I quite enjoyed it being a very limited track rider. Its fast and lots of track room.

I did it once many years ago on the RSV.

It did suit that bike, but not me. For me it's too long, there are too many corners, breaking points, apexes to learn and get right.

I enjoyed Mallory on a 600 much more.

Would be interesting to know why they've cancelled all bike track days. Is it financial or political.

I did a track day on the European circuit a quite a few years ago. I ran off a few times. The first run off was at the end of Hamilton Straight, I was on the wrong side of the track for the right hander. Leon Haslam was in the fast group. I was shite tbf but I did manage to lap my mate who was pootling around on his GS haha
