Hope it turns out to be nothing.

I'm just fault finding on the automated claims forms :D
And just had to call the underwriter as they keep sending messages saying I haven't provided all the details, apparently that's incorrect and they have everything they need (headbang)

I've not long gotten home from the pub with my Son and in-laws. He made new friends playing football and learned how to apply daddy's brakes... he was roaring!!!

This week Byron has been off school for Yr 11 exams, but as he’s on Life Skills for all but one subject (non-university entry program) so has only on exam.

So we’ve been doing some driving practice. Knocked over 5 hrs this week.

You know how when some one has sat next to you while you drive you’d expect them to pick up at least a little knowledge? Not with Autism!!! First roundabout I got him to turn right at (luckily deserted area) he turns right indeed, and goes around the roundabout the wrong way!!

Lesson for dad. Don’t assume he knows anything! But to be fair he’s doing better than I expected so far and the biggest win is he’s actually enjoying it 🥳

I’ve drunk a lot of gin this week though 😂

100% expecting exactly this from James when I have the challenge of teaching him in a few years.

It’s definitely taking all my experience and skills as a workplace trainer/assessor to stay calm and encouraging. But I haven’t lost my rag and he’s finishing with a smile, so I’m getting something right.

But yeah don’t assume any knowledge at all 😂

Byron’s actually being assessed for ADHD as well. Did a comprehensive Working Memory assessment recently with his Psyhologist, and inattentiveness and hyper fixation (which is also ASD though) came out very evident.

I tried to go down this path last year but his physiologist was a bit dismissive. But since the memory assessment she’s now changed her mind.

Took Jess, her son Haydn (13), and my daughter Jorja (14) go-karting.

It was the first time for all of them. Haydn picked it up pretty well and second session took me a few corners to lap him. Jorja was only a few seconds a lap slower and much faster than Jess (lol)

First session was just us, but second session we were on with 6 guys in their 20's. I still had the fastest outright lap and quickest average lap for the session (rock)

But everyone really enjoyed it and is keen to do more.

Spending money

Bought a replacement Packtalk and upgraded to the Edge as my bold does turn on but just blasts static at full volume, and a new helmet to stick it to, a Scorpion Exo tech evo Carbon, with the Packtalk being on sale and them price matching the helmet I got about £136 off the normal retail prices.

My stitches came out today and I'm back to work later, so I've mostly been doing bits around the house to see if my back can take some bending and twisting and I can vouch for bruised kidneys hurting a bit... The whole thing is a learning experience.

Had a good day today (after I got home from work).

I took my Son to the supermarket, shopped for the next two nights dinner, came home and cooked it while he watched the Gruffalo movie, fitted my new saddle while the food cooked, ate a delicious meal and then had an hour of playing with him and laughing so hard I thought I was going to die. He's now asleep in bed, I'm revising lean manufacturing processes and touching up a few weak points as far as Machine Tools are concerned in prep for Wednesdays interview.
