It's flipping dangerous! 25 minutes to clear a good effort by some small minded individuals. They shifted 100+ trees, branches, and bush all over the trail and then a whole wood pile at the bottom of a drop with some carefully positioned so they point directly at you as you go over the edge.
Idiots.
Couldn't that actually even constitute manslaughter, if some poor rider took a direct hit one of those directed branches ?

I don't understand the mentality. It's a trail FFS.

I think you'd have to prove criminal negligence and/or intent....that's assuming you could find out who was responsible & bring them to trial. And for manslaughter??.... I'm not so sure.
Is there a lawyer in the house??

Unless someone got injured they'll get no charges. If someone gets injured it will likely be ABH at best, a death would only be manslaughter as they can easily claim they were just trying to stop people from using the trails and no intent to cause harm; aiming to be a nuisance, not an assault.

You're right thought, Kwacky, it's just a bloody trail. There are a bunch of trails not far from this one which have been destroyed and signage put up at the start of the trails as they're in a conservation area; and I completely back this.

I've contacted National Trust about it and notified them I'll be going to the same trail again tonight to see if anything has been moved again.

It might be worth putting some well hidden wildlife cameras up.

Vodafone. It's taken them a month to switch my old number over to pay as you go. I need to be on PAYG for a month before I can swap my old number to my new account.

They've changed all of my account settings like data limits, using premium lines etc. I can't log into my account up change them back because they've switched my account over to my old number but they've not given me access to my account.

So I need to call them. My experience of calling them is mixed. Fingers crossed I get a decent operator.

Road works.

They're everywhere. I was out for about 3 hours Ava I must have hit at least 8 sets of temporary lights.

Out cycling with my brother on a quiet country lane in the cotswolds
Knob on an enduro bike starts beeping his horn and waving his fists at me
Told him to do one then a group of them appear getting aggressive
Every time I rode two wheels on the road my confidence plummets
I think I will stick to mx

I can honestly say you don't get the same level of abuse when riding a mountain bike on the road. I think it's the lycra that makes everyone assume you're an asshole. Unfortunately, the reason for that thought is because of the extreme minority

Th usual problem with cyclists I find is the nobheads driving the car behind them who is either too timid, too thick or unable to judge the size of his own car to overtake when the opportunity arises.

bloody weather forecasters..

I checked the water tank before I left home. About 7,000L (capacity 30,000L). Pump pick up is at 2,000L height, so really only 5,000L useable.

Check forecast. 6mm expected over next 2 weeks. I have 220m sq catchment, so that's only 1,300L

OK, ordered a load of 16,000L for $160 so Jess and the kids don't run out while I'm away.

Yesterday.... 103mm of rain... 22,000L harvest. Everything I bought pushed out the overflow and down the creek (punch)

Damnit!!!!!!!!!
There's one band I'd really love to see...Band-Maid...an all-girl hard rock band from Japan I've been listening to for a while now. I just found out that they gigged right down the road... well, 20 miles or so down the road, just a week ago. I had no idea that they were back touring, let alone in the US.!!
I think this is the second time I've missed them now. I'm genuinely pissed off & disappointed. Arrrrgh!

Nah...they're on the Central/East side of the country until the beginning of next month and that's it. Hopefully there'll be another opportunity in the future.

I'm glad you liked them....if you haven't already, check out the live versions of 'Domination' & 'Freedom'.... those girls really know how to put on a great show. Amazing drummer..... and they're all so happy on stage!!...a breath of fresh air compared to most bands.

Fingers crossed we only have another couple of days of this before it goes back to the standard levels of damp and cold.
