In just two weeks this Government has lost all credibility, control of the economy and the value of the pound.

John Major is a lonely voice of common sense in the current Tory party.

I must have said this a thousand times, but surely "THIS" has to be the death of the Tory party, or at the very least out of government for a few terms. They've been taking the p!ss for decades, but surely now even the most dyed in the wool Tory sheeple has to see them for what they are. Utter ****!

Wishful thinking Monty.? Don't you think "the people" are too shallow & easily manipulated for that to be the case.?

I do wonder if the tactic isn't perhaps to "go all out" flagrantly asset stripping everything they possibly can into private ownership (theirs & their cohorts) until the end of their term. Then they will intentionally loose, leaving Labour to take over an utterly dire situation (set up to fail).
After a term in opposition they will come back vigorously, pointing at the (inevitable) failings of their successors, slating "the Truss era" as an abhorrence never to be repeated, and claiming to return the country to "how wealthy we made you in the glory years".

See you in seven years time mate, you can tell me I was wrong.? ;)

There's millions of UK people who are told to think labour are Communists whose sole intent is to flood the UK with immigrants and to ruin the British economy.

There's millions of people who settled think brexit is a good idea.

There's millions of people who will still vote Tory at the next general election.

Unless people swallow their pride and vote for Starmer's labour and only if Starmer keeps his word and brings in PR then we'll continue to go through these long bouts of Tory rule.

It seems her own MPs would have voted against it in enough numbers to defeat it.

Its ludicrous that a Party can choose a new PM who doesn't have the support of her own MPs. but has wealthy backers who can get her elected.

We need a GE ASAP.

I'm not so sure..

Isn't what we really need, some better system.?? -If our democratic system appears incapable of selecting the best form of government time & again, do you not think that perhaps we need to have a more comprehensive overhaul than just "a GE ASAP" ?

We only have to look at Italy, to see that ignoring the main problem can create serious issues .

After a decade of austerity with the Tories lining the pockets of themselves and their donors, while sending borrowing sky rocketing and running all essential services into the ground...

Here comes austerity 2.0....

This is a packed room at the Tory conference. People are being turned away. Even the main auditorium is looking sparse.

Guess what the topic of conversation is?
