Re: Detailing Thread
Oh man.. the car is black as well isn't it.. just to make it worse!
FWIW, washing in the sun in the cold is fine, it's only the panel temperature that's the issue. So long as he rinses off the shampoo before it dries he won't get water spots (if he dries it). As for the sponge.....

Re: Detailing Thread
It's black on the top and white everywhere else.
The car had been outside for some time so I'm guessing the black roof may have warmed up.
He's wiping it down with something that looks like a small jays cloth.

He's now wet the cloth and is using it to wipe down the inside of the car
That car is going to stink tomorrow.

No way. It's entertaining.

At least he didn't start with the wheels before using the same cloth to dry the paint

Re: Detailing Thread
Maybe he's trying to give the car that fashionable relic'd look, like a '61 Stratocaster or something??

I think he loves his new car and wants to prove he loves.. however.. he's just stuck his dongle in the proverbial ear hole.

Re: Detailing Thread
Ok, so colour me impressed.
Gave the ovlov as clean for the first time since the ceramic like coating. Started with snow foam and a jet wash, and wasn't initially impressed. A lot of the dirt was still on the car, but got the wash mitt out and then found out why the ceramic coat... All the dirt just vanished, a quick jet wash after and a towel dry and all done.
Less than an hour spent and from farm yard to white again. Game changer.

Re: Detailing Thread
It all makes the difference! A good protection makes cleaning a breeze and even though a lot of grime was left on the car, those pre-wash products made the shampoos job easier. It particularly helps with bugs in the summer months.

Re: Detailing Thread
A few weeks since cleaning but the car is beading up beautifully! The Ceramic Detailer I used in the high traffic areas appears to have a small amount of self cleaning ability too
