Re: Work
Fwiw I agree with Jon.: How secure is the other company-vs-your existing employer.
Either way, it would seem that telling your current employer that you have been approached +£7k would work in your favour even if you are doing so at the same time as informing them that you are "remaining loyal" (aka new company didn't win the above comparison test).

This company want to skip the Skype/Teams call and go straight to an interview next week. That's always promising.

I would see that as a lead into medical and I tell engineers all the time be an engineer in medical or pharma because they pay the highest salaries and have the best career routes
go for it

Cheers mate. I just spoke with a mate and colleague, turns out he knows the guy I'd likely be reporting to so he's going to do some digging.

Re: Work
My mates Trackday company is closing so I won't be doing that anymore unfortunately , he never really got it established probably lockdown and covid didn't help and with the current economic climate it's just not getting the numbers to make it viable , I was struggling just to meet my costs there this year but was hopeful things would improve , I guess not . If it weren't for the support I get from the military community at TSGB I reckon I'd be folding this year too .

Re: Work
Well this is different for me.
I work for DHL on the Tesco supply chain contract, which is being taken over by Stobart at the end of the month... I think they have to keep my pay and conditions for 2 years?
It's a first for me so I will see how things go.

I'm no expert, but it depends on how the business is taken over and reasons for redundancies or changes. Given your skillset now my own view is you will be ok - plus Stobart is massive too so you might get more opportunities?

Re: Work
Thank you!
I don't know if anyone remembers but a few years ago Stobart drivers went out on strike over pay and conditions at the Doncaster Tesco site, they have history here and I am surprised to see them back.

Re: Work
Thanks for the good luck wishes, the interview went well.
The role isn't as complex as the advert or recruiter made out.. I could definitely do this job.
Now it's just time to sit and wait to hear back.

Re: Work
I've been told they want me. I did tell the recruiter that I liked the role, however, I'm concerned for the lack of variety to the job and lack of progression. He's been told they are in talks to recruit a Product Manager and they want me to work towards that role. The recruiter is going back to them to organise a Teams call to discuss this with them. This could be interesting.
